This blog is meant to keep FSP members and others informed about events, and to feature past talks or excerpts of talks in video/audio format. Also, it is a place for members to discuss the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives, to share graces and miracles received, evangelization stories, prayer requests, etc.
St. Paul, pray for us!
FSP Mission Statement
MISSION STATEMENT: The Fellowship of St. Paul is a voluntary association of students, faculty and friends at Sacred Heart Major Seminary who seek to follow St. Paul’s exhortation to “walk in the Spirit” (Gal 5:16; Rom 8:4).
Specifically, we desire and pray for more of the Spirit in order to: *know God’s love (Rom 5:5, Rom 8:14-16) and his ways (1 Cor 2:10-16) *joyfully praise, thank, and worship God in the Spirit (Eph 5:18-20) *love our neighbor as ourselves (Rom 13:8-9, Gal 5:14; 1 Cor 13) *grow in prayer and to pray for others (Rom 8:26-27; 1 Cor 14:14-15) *resist the “desires of the flesh” and live in spiritual freedom (Gal 5:16-17, 24; Rom 8:13; 13:14) *be changed into Christ’s likeness and bear the fruit of the Spirit (2 Cor 3:17-18, Gal 5:22-23) *deepen our fellowship (koinonia) with other Christians (2 Cor 13:14; 1 Jn 1:3) *be generous with our material resources (Acts 4:31-35; 2 Cor 8:9; Titus 3:14) *exercise spiritual gifts to build up the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:7-11; Rom 12:4-8; Eph 4:7,12), *and proclaim Christ to others in the power of the Spirit (1 Cor 2:2-5).
During the school year the Fellowship hosts monthly events for prayer, teaching and mutual support for life in the Spirit. These events are open to all in the Sacred Heart Major Seminary community.
Anyone who wishes is welcome to join the Fellowship of St. Paul if they agree with the Mission Statement and make it a priority to participate in Fellowship events.
